100 days in: Are you celebrating or regretting?

successorfailureApril 10th is a pretty special day.

In addition to celebrating my parents’  42nd wedding anniversary, April 10th  also marks the 100th day of the year.

That’s right – we’re on day 100 of 2017.  Time really flies doesn’t it?

As you allow that to sink in, I want to ask you a few questions:

  • How far have  you  been able to progress towards your goals during the first 100 days of this year?
  • Have you been implementing strategies that have made you healthier, wealthier and happier than you were at the beginning of the year?
  • If the next 100 days are like the past 100 days would you find yourself full of joy or regret?

100 days from now, where will you be?

Hopefully, this little post has given you a wake up call.

The time for procrastination is over.

Now is the time that you follow through on that plan to launch your own business.

Now is the time to finish that manuscript and become a published author.

Now, as Henry David Thoreau so eloquently put it, is the time for you to move confidently  in the direction of your dreams!

Sunday Inspiration – Be strong! Be courageous!

It breaks my heart to see people living small & lacking confidence.

There are so many people who have big, beautiful dreams and aspirations, but don’t follow through because they don’t believe that they’re “good/smart/experienced enough to make it happen.”

YOU have so many life experiences & so much IMMENSE POTENTIAL inside of you, and if you could see that, you would have UNSTOPPABLE confidence.

In those times when you when you feel defeated, overwhelmed and insignificant, meditate on this verse:

Be Strong! Be Courageous!

Envision Your Best Life (part 3): A 5 Step Formula For Maximizing The Power Of Visioning & Goal Setting

When considering what the future is going to be like, most people choose to simply drift along and this is a tragedy that happens over and over again.

The most intelligent, well meaning people in the world are relegated to an inferior existence, living a life less fulfilling and rewarding because they did not set goals or visualize what they wanted for their future.

Consider the airline pilot who flies a plane from New York to Los Angeles. Most of the flight is on auto-pilot, where the course is set at the beginning. But it’s not a straight, point A to point B event. The plane is constantly making adjustments for wind, weather and other issues that may come up which could throw it off course.

It’s the same with your life. Without first setting the course and without making the necessary adjustments, your future will just drift into any direction the wind takes it.

This is no way to go through life!

The old adage is true: When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

But, even knowing how important visioning and goal setting is, most people rarely utilize these powerful tools in their lives.

How do you make visioning and goal setting work for you?

Here is a five-step formula to build confidence and increase clarity and focus around visioning and goal setting. Commit to following these five steps to pull towards you what you truly want.

Step One: Fix Energy Leaks
Disorder in our lives distracts and confuses us and drains our energy. When we clear away emotional as well as physical mess, we make room for fully expressing who we really are.

Step Two: Reach a High Frequency
Energy attracts like energy, which means we will attract the people and circumstances that are vibrating at the same emotional level as we are. To increase and maintain a high emotional vibration, commit to love and other positive emotions, and nurture yourself.

Step Three: Affirm Success
Affirmations are powerful statements to remind us what we know to be true, despite what others may say or when our own ego makes us doubt. Commit to writing down your affirmations and posting them prominently somewhere in your life. Say them out loud throughout the day.

Step Four: Create A Compelling Mental Picture
Every top athlete has harnessed the power of seeing their accomplishments in their minds first. To give that image the power you need to succeed, you must engage all your senses, and you must infuse it with the positive emotions you would feel if this were a reality. Commit to seeing your goals as “real” and soon they will be.

Step Five: Focus On Gratitude
What you focus on expands. That’s why it’s so important to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Take time to express your sincere appreciation to others, and give thanks in anticipation of any and all that you accomplish.

BONUS Step:  Manifest Your Vision

You don’t have to be satisfied with just dreaming of a better life.  You can truly have a better life by manifesting yoru vision.

Envision Your Best Life (part 2): What’s Standing In The Way Of Creating Your Best Life?

Many people know that creating a crystal clear picture of what you desire is a critical component of success.  Yet, very few are able to harness the power of visioning and goal setting to achieve the results they desire.

There are five primary roadblocks that prevent people from crating a powerful vision for their lives.  In this article, we take a look at these impediments.  See if you are being stopped by any of them.

The Top Five Roadblocks To Creating A Powerful Vision

 1.    Being dazzled by the current moments of life with no regard for future moments.

Life is busy.  There are so many demands on your time today that it is difficult to think about anything other than the present moment. Time seems to fly by without any progress towards what really matters most.

2.    Being comfortable with what’s familiar in life – even if what’s familiar makes you uncomfortable.

You have fallen into a safe routine.  You’re in a job…a relationship..a pants size that you really are not satisfied with but you’ve gotten used to it.  Even though you know it’s not healthy for you, you’d rather stay where you are than step outside of your comfort zone.

3.    Being attached to yesterday’s successes and thinking that future successes will be in short supply.

You’ve had some great moments in your life.  Being captain of the basketball team…the star student and valedictorian of your class…graduating from college summa cum laude…being promoted to your dream job.  Those were the best days of your life.  You can’t imagine how you could possibly top those accomplishments.

4.    Being invested in solving it yourself

If you don’t do it, it just won’t happen.  You’ve felt the pain of having others let you down.  You’ve stayed up late finishing a project that someone else said they’d do.  You’ve decided that it’s just not worth he hassle If it’s going to be, it’s up to you.

5.    Adopting a minimalist view about what’s possible.

Be realistic.  You don’t see the point of creating a vision unless you can also see how it wil become a reality.  If you can’t see all the steps from the very beginning, it’s just not attainable.

Break Through The Roadblocks

As powerful s these roadblocks can be, you can break through them. You can decide how the rest of your life is going to look and feel.  Right now you can take steps toward a better life for yourself, your career and your family, simply by practicing the art of visioning and goal setting.  It’s like writing a new script for your life.

 Write A New Script

If your life were a movie, what kind of movie would it be?

It’s time to write a blockbuster script for your life and I’m going to show you how.  It’s so simple…so EASY… and I’m super-excited to share this with you.

6 Basic Business Tips For Starting A Profitable NonProfit

It’s time for nonprofits to become profitable!

This isn’t a topic I have ever discussed on my blog before.  Yet, it’s definitely one I’m passionate about.

All too often, non profit organizations struggle to survive.  Not because they don’t have an excellent mission. but because they have bought into the myth that nonprofits are meant to struggle and be broke.

That can’t be further from the truth.

The truth is– NonProfits can (and should) be PROFITABLE!

For the next few weeks, I’m sharing a series of articles specifically designed to help nonprofit leaders to grow thriving, successful nonprofits.

To kick the series off, here are 6 Basic Business Tips For Start-Up NonProfits. (Profitable NonProfits start from the very beginning. )

Do Your Research.
Is there a need for your organization?  Before you begin the extensive process of developing a new nonprofit, check out your competition.  Are there other organizations offering the same types of services you’d like to offer?  What makes your services better?

Develop A Business Plan.
Contrary to popular belief, a nonprofit organization is—and should be operated as—a business enterprise.  This means before you engage in the business of serving others through a nonprofit organization, you must have a plan.  What is your organization’s mission?  Who will you serve? How will you serve?  How much money do you need to operate?  How will you bring income into the organization?

Put The Right People On Your Board.
Your friends and family might not be the right people for your nonprofit Board.  The Board of Directors you choose will ultimately determine the level of success of your organization. Are the people you’re selecting interested in your cause?  Do they have professional experience in an area that is essential to your organization’s growth (e.g. finance, law, marketing)?  Are they committed to the success of your organization?

Don’t Take Shortcuts.
Sloppy recordkeeping and failure to adhere to legal regulations are the downfall of many nonprofit organizations.  Nonprofits are heavily regulated by both state and federal government agencies. Be certain to take care of all the legal regulations related to starting and maintaining your nonprofit organization.    Just because you are operating for a charitable purpose does not mean that you don’t have to follow all of the rules.  In fact, your nonprofit organization is held to a higher standard in order to protect your donors and ensure that the organization can continue to serve the public good.

Develop Multiple Streams Of Income.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.  In order to have a successful and sustainable nonprofit organization, you’ll need to develop multiple ways of raising funds.  A good resource development plan (aka fundraising plan) will help you to explore all possible avenues of raising capital.  What are the top 3-4 ways you can generate income for your non profit organization?

Establish Strong Partnerships.
The best, and most effective, way to advance your organization is to team up with other organizations who are serving the same audience that you serve but with a different area of focus.  For example, if you operate a tutoring service that helps high school student excel in mathematics, partnering with an organization that enhances students’ reading skills would be a great partnership.  Cooperative collaborations bring in more service opportunities and make your organization more attractive to funders.
